Thermal lamination film is produced by multi-extrusion coating lines and consists of two layers: a plastic film (primarily BOPP or PET) and an adhesive glue layer (EVA). Also known as dry, hot, or heat lamination film.
Primarily used by printing houses for commercial and school printing applications, as well as graphic arts large format printing. The transparent film lamination (bright/shine/glossy or matte/dull) is heated as protection on paper covers. Specific applications include:
- Textbook covers
- Brochures
- Leaflets
- Sweet boxes and diaries
- Shopping bags
- Cosmetics boxes
The lamination process involves joining two or more layers to protect prints. A hot laminator (thermal lamination roller machine) is used to melt the EVA adhesive onto paper surfaces. The film passes over a heated roller and, under appropriate pressure, adheres to the paper. This process is user-friendly and suitable for both industrial and small-scale applications.
