PET Thermal Laminating Film is primarily composed of PET + EVA layers combined through an extrusion coating process. The resulting film features PET film properties on one side and a heat-sensitive surface for dry lamination on the other. Available in both glossy/transparent and matte/opaque classifications, with thicknesses from 11micron to 350micron. Standard widths range from 180mm to 1880mm, and lengths from 100m (1 inch core, 25mm) to 4000m (3 inch core, 76mm).
PET Glossy Laminating Film is suitable for various applications including:
- Textbook covers
- Brochures and leaflets
- Sweet boxes and cosmetics packaging
- Shopping bags
- Diaries
PET thermal laminating film requires a laminating machine (hot laminator) to melt the EVA layer onto substrates like paper. The film passes over a heated roller and adheres to the paper under appropriate pressure. This straightforward process, also known as heat lamination, dry lamination, or hot lamination, can be performed in home settings for small applications.
- Adjust roller pressure and temperature according to paper and ink types
- Conduct small trial runs when using new film sizes or types
- Normal process temperature: 90℃-105℃ (203℉ - 221℉)
- Ensure ink is completely dry before laminating
- Store materials in low-temperature, dry environments
- Avoid laminating when:
- Using metal ink
- Ink contains excessive wax, dried oil, adhesive, or silicon additives
- Ink layer is too thick
- Ink is not fully dried
- Paper contains excessive moisture
- Surface has too much powder
- One roll per carton
- Multiple rolls per pallet
- 10-12 pallets per 20ft container (approx. 13MT)
- 20-22 pallets per 40ft container (approx. 25MT)
