Generally used by printing houses for commercial and school printings, as well as graphic arts large format applications. The transparent film lamination (bright/shine/glossy or matte/dull) is heated as protection on paper covers. Sometimes referred to as paper lamination film using heated EVA adhesive glue on paper substrates.
Specific applications include:
- Textbook covers
- Brochures
- Leaflets
- Sweet boxes and diaries
- Shopping bags
- Cosmetics boxes
Lamination process involves joining two or more layers to protect prints. Requires a hot laminator (thermal/heat/dry lamination roller machine) to melt the EVA adhesive onto paper surface. The film passes over a heated roller and under reasonable pressure sticks to the paper. This easy process can be done at home for small applications. Also known as heat lamination, dry lamination, or hot lamination.
