Thermal lamination film is produced by multi-extrusion coating lines and consists of two layers: a plastic film (primarily BOPP or PET film) and an adhesive glue layer of EVA. Also known as dry, hot, or heat lamination film.

The transparent film lamination (bright/shine/glossy or matte/dull) is heated as protection on paper covers, sometimes referred to as paper lamination film.

The lamination process joins two or more layers to protect prints. A hot laminator (thermal/heat/dry lamination roller machine) is used to melt the EVA adhesive onto paper surfaces. The film passes over a heated roller and, under reasonable pressure, sticks to the paper. This easy process can be done at home for small applications.
