The PET manufacturer M&G's bankruptcy filing and hurricane Harvey have afected the supply of PET materials on the U.S. gulf coast. North American PET prices rose three cents a pound in October and November, PET prices in the United States have been rising for six months.
In the short term, imports may help to deal with North America. But on November 8, U.S. trade officials voted to continue to review the four major north American manufacturers of PET, in Brazil, Indonesia, South Korea, Pakistan and Taiwan imports of PET products anti-dumping duty request, is expected to make a decision in early march.
